Moore County 2023: 106K People
The 2023 estimate provided by the US Census Bureau says our population is about 106,000 people.

Everyone knows Moore County is an attractive place to live, work and play.
Historically, we've grown almost entirely due to migration.

What will our population be in 2050?

What will influence the growth rate?

THE LOW CASE
Moore County 2050:
140K People
If either of the following were to occur, we could see the Moore County population grow to 135K-145K by 2050:

1. Migration slows to a rate less than long term trends, or

2. Public policies are much less accommodative to growth.

THE HIGH CASE
Moore County 2050:
180K People
If both of the following were to occur, we could see the Moore County population grow to 180K by 2050:

1. Migration speeds up to the rate we saw during the Post-Pandemic growth bubble, and

2. Public policies enable unconstrained growth.

THE NOMINAL CASE
Moore County 2050:
150K People
If both of the following were to occur, we could see the Moore County population grow to 145K-155K by 2050:

1. Migration gradually slows down consistent with long term trends, and

2. Public policies support moderate growth.
